AWS Edge Mid-Market Americas Regional Sales Tech Practice Builder
Accenture Edge for AWS is seeking a Technology Leader to serve as the core technical leader for the AWS business unit, supporting mid-market AWS transformation for companies up to $3B in annual revenue. This role drives technology vision, delivery leadership, solution standards, and technical governance to help clients adopt, migrate, modernize, optimize, and operate on AWS with enterprise-grade quality and mid-market speed.
About the role
The Technology Leader will serve as the field CTO-style leader and top technical point of contact for priority customers, large accounts, and strategic deals. This role combines hands-on AWS architecture credibility, technical delivery leadership, presales solutioning, and collaboration with sales, AWS field teams, delivery pods, managed services, and client executives.
Responsibilities
- Own the technology vision, technical strategy, architecture principles, delivery standards, reusable accelerators, technical playbooks, and governance model for Accenture Edge for AWS.
- Lead technical solutioning for cloud migration, VMware migration, secure cloud foundation, managed services, FinOps, data modernization, AI modernization, Amazon Connect, DevOps, security, and modernization pursuits.
- Serve as the senior-most technical point of contact for priority customers, leading architecture strategy, technical vision, and executive-level technology conversations with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, and business leaders.
- Own technical strategy, solution architecture, delivery feasibility, risk posture, and executive technical alignment for large accounts, complex pursuits, and strategic AWS transformation programs.
- Partner with sales and AWS teams to support customer discovery, executive workshops, AWS co-sell motions, proposal development, solution estimates, and technical differentiation for strategic pursuits.
- Ensure offerings move from sale to delivery with clear scope, architecture, staffing model, pricing assumptions, acceptance criteria, delivery risks, and client success measures.
- Develop technical talent through capability frameworks, certification paths, communities of practice, architecture review routines, and mentoring models.
- Establish technical review boards, Well-Architected discipline, security-by-design practices, delivery assurance checkpoints, and escalation paths for complex AWS engagements.
- Convert successful delivery patterns into packaged offerings, accelerators, templates, automation, migration factories, runbooks, and managed services transition models.
- Track technical quality, delivery productivity, certification progress, solution reuse, margin support, customer satisfaction, and offering adoption across the AWS business unit.
Success Measures
- Delivery of at least 5–7 repeatable AWS offerings, reference architectures, or accelerators adopted by sales and delivery teams within the first 12 months.
- Support for $50M–$100M in annual AWS services bookings, delivery portfolio, or managed services revenue.
- Growth of AWS-certified technical talent by at least 25% year over year or creation of at least 25 new AWS certifications annually.
- Achievement of 95% or higher SLA attainment, 4.5/5 or higher customer satisfaction, and reduced critical delivery escalations across active engagements.
- Recognized technical leadership role in at least 5 priority customer accounts or strategic deals, including ownership of executive technical alignment and architecture direction.
- Improvement in solution reuse, delivery productivity, cost estimation accuracy, and transition quality from sales to delivery.
- Strengthened collaboration between technology, sales, AWS alliance, delivery, managed services, and client success teams.
Travel may be required (0-100%) depending on client and business needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, technology consulting, platform engineering, managed services, systems integration, or digital transformation delivery.
- Minimum of 8+ years of hands-on AWS architecture, engineering, migration, modernization, operations, or cloud delivery experience.
- Minimum of 8+ years leading technology vision, architecture strategy, delivery teams, cloud centers of excellence, or platform engineering teams for a cloud services or transformation business.
- Minimum of 8+ years leading teams of at least 25–50 architects, engineers, consultants, delivery leads, or managed services professionals.
- Minimum of 8+ years solutioning, governing, and delivering AWS cloud migration, modernization, managed services, data, AI, security, DevOps, or contact center engagements.
- Minimum of 8+ years experience serving as senior technical sponsor, field CTO, chief architect, or top technical point of contact for at least 5 large customer accounts or enterprise transformation programs.
- Minimum of 8+ years experience leading technical delivery governance for at least 10 large-scale cloud programs with responsibility for architecture quality, delivery readiness, risk mitigation, and customer executive alignment.
- Minimum of 8+ years experience supporting at least $50M–$100M in annual cloud services bookings, delivery portfolio, managed services revenue, or AWS business unit technology-enabled revenue.
- Experience creating certification or capability plans that increased AWS-certified talent by at least 25% year over year or produced at least 25 new AWS certifications annually.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If associate’s degree, must have minimum 6 years’ work experience).
Preferred Experience
- Deep knowledge of AWS core services, AWS Well-Architected Framework, landing zones, multi-account strategy, networking, security, DevOps, containers, serverless, data platforms, AI services, observability, and FinOps.
- Ability to translate business outcomes into pragmatic, secure, scalable, and cost-effective AWS architectures for mid-market customers.
- Strong executive communication skills and comfort leading technical discussions with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, engineering leaders, operations leaders, and business stakeholders.
- Field CTO-style presence with the ability to operate as a trusted senior technical advisor, connecting technology decisions to business outcomes.
- Experience defining technology vision for a newly formed business unit, emerging service line, or cloud center of excellence within a larger company.
- Familiarity with AWS partner programs, ACE, AWS Marketplace, AWS funding mechanisms, competency development, and joint technical validation motions.
- Experience with packaged, fixed-scope, outcome-based, migration factory, modernization factory, or managed services delivery models.
- Ability to balance hands-on technical credibility with business-unit technology vision, commercial awareness, delivery governance, and talent development.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional groups such as sales, AWS alliance, solution architecture, delivery, security, finance, legal, managed services, product, or client success teams.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty, or equivalent certifications.
Pay
Compensation varies by location. Annual salary ranges for this role are as follows:
- California: $163,000 to $369,800
- Cleveland: $150,900 to $295,800
- Colorado: $163,000 to $319,500
- District of Columbia: $173,500 to $340,200
- Illinois: $150,900 to $319,500
- Maine: $138,800 to $272,100
- Maryland: $163,000 to $319,500
- Massachusetts: $163,000 to $340,200
- Minnesota: $163,000 to $319,500
- New York: $150,900 to $369,800
- New Jersey: $173,500 to $369,800
