Awake Overnights | Full-time Direct Support Professional

About the role

The Arc of Centre County is hiring Full-Time Awake Overnight Direct Support Professionals to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. This is a split role between two programs in State College and Bellefonte, PA.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to adults with IDD/A in residential group homes
• Assist with activities of daily living like cooking, hygiene, and routines
• Monitor health, safety, and well-being of individuals
• Support individuals in building life skills
• Provide transportation to community-based activities and appointments
• Promote independence and a person-centered environment
• Build meaningful relationships while making a difference every day

Requirements

• 18+ years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license (agency vehicles provided for community outings)
• TB test and physical
• Able to lift 50 pounds & assist with physical supports such as lifting, bending, standing, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism (IDD/A)
• Experience in direct care, caregiving, behavioral health, or healthcare

Pay

• $18/hour + shift differentials + $1,200 sign-on bonus
• Additional $1/hour for late nights, weekends, and holidays (differentials can stack!)
• Opportunities to pick up extra shifts and overtime

Growth Opportunities

• Eligible DSPs can complete NADSP credentialing and earn an extra $1/hour per credential, up to $3!
• Internal promotion culture: many of our Director-level and Executive-level administrators started as DSPs!
