Awake Night Staff - Orange County

About the role

Rite of Passage’s Southern California Treatment Program is located in Tustin, Placentia, and Costa Mesa, CA. This position provides overnight safety and around-the-clock supervision for our residential youth.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight safety and around-the-clock supervision for our residential youth and promote an atmosphere that is professional and supportive.
• Monitor and document their behaviors and actions.
• Participate and assist with educational and recreational activities.
• Work in collaboration with other departments to establish and meet the goals of each youth’s treatment plan.

Requirements

• Demonstrate empathy, patience, respect, and a genuine desire to work with troubled teens.
• Be at least 21 years old, pass a criminal background check, drug screening, physical exam, and TB test.
• Possess a current State Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years.
• Have relevant life experience in child welfare, mental health, or juvenile justice, either as a mentor or caregiver.
• Must possess one of the following qualifications: a Bachelor’s degree, a valid Child Development Teaching Permit, 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, Psychology, certification as an Alcohol or Drug Counselor, or one year of full-time experience in a group home, therapeutic program, or substance abuse treatment program.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work flexible hours including Sunday - Wednesday 10:00 pm - 8:00 am (Shift A) and Wednesday - Saturday 10:00 pm - 8:00 am (Shift B).

• You will be eligible for Medical insurance on the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.
• You will be eligible for the rest of the Rite of Passage Benefits Package immediately after 90 days of full-time employment.

Pay

Entry rate starting at $19.00 per hour; $500.00 Sign-On Bonus for Full-Time Direct Care position paid out at 6 Months; $1,000 Bonus after successful completion of Essential Skills Training within the first 90 Days!

Schedule/Hours/Shiffts

A Shift: Sunday - Wednesday 10:00 pm - 8:00 am
B Shift: Wednesday - Saturday 10:00 pm - 8:00 am
