Residential Youth Awake Night Staff

San Pasqual Academy is located on a beautiful 238-acre campus in rural San Pasqual Valley. The facility includes classrooms, an auditorium, gym, cafeteria, and on-grounds sports such as basketball, softball, and football. Our unique residential setting features staff and house parents who serve as surrogate parents, mentoring and tutoring students, teaching independent living skills, encouraging participation in sports and recreation, assisting with career exploration, and promoting family living skills.

About the role

As an Awake Night Staff member, you will provide safety and around-the-clock in-person supervision of youth. Your responsibilities will include addressing the physical, personal, and health needs of each student through individual counseling and skill development in behavioral, social, physical, and educational areas. You will create a supportive atmosphere, monitor and document student behaviors, participate in educational and recreational activities, and collaborate with professional staff to meet each student’s treatment plan goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and 24-hour supervision of youth
• Address physical, personal, and health needs through individual counseling
• Support behavioral, social, physical, and educational skill development
• Create a supportive environment for students
• Monitor and document student behaviors and activities
• Participate in and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities
• Collaborate with professional staff to meet student treatment plan goals

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 21 years of age
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test
• Ability to pass a search of the child abuse central registry

Pay

Starting at $19.00/hour. Includes a $1500 training and longevity bonus: $1000 at 90 days upon completion and demonstration of trainings, and $500 at 6 months of employment.

Schedule

4 days per week, 10-hour shifts. Shift B: Wednesday–Saturday, 10:00 PM–8:00 AM (overnight).
