AVP, Technology Product Manager - Sales

The AVP, Technology Product Manager – Sales Technology (U.S. Group) is a senior leadership role responsible for defining, delivering, and evolving critical sales technology platforms supporting MetLife’s largest business, U.S. Group. This includes ownership of core capabilities such as CRM, sales presentation tools, and RFP response platforms. These solutions are complex and require multi-system integrations and maintenance. This leader will oversee a team accountable for delivering high-impact, integrated technology solutions that enable sales effectiveness, operational efficiency, and growth.
Responsibilities
- Product & Technology Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end strategy, roadmap, and delivery of sales technology platforms, including:
- CRM systems
- Sales presentation and enablement tools
- Workflow & Integrations
- AI-enabled experiences and AI agentic solutions
- Ensure alignment of technology investments to U.S. Group business priorities and sales strategy
- Oversee complex multi-system integrations, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability
- Drive AI-first solution development, continuous improvement, and modernization of platforms to enhance user experience and business outcomes
- Lead the end-to-end strategy, roadmap, and delivery of sales technology platforms, including:
- Delivery & Execution Excellence
- Lead a team responsible for design, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of critical sales technologies
- Partner with IT, architecture, and external vendors to deliver integrated solutions across the enterprise ecosystem
- Ensure strong governance, risk management, and adherence to enterprise technology standards
- Balance speed, quality, and cost in a dynamic and evolving business environment
- Stakeholder & Matrix Leadership
- Serve as a strategic partner to Sales, Product, Operations, and Technology leadership
- Translate business needs into clear technical and product requirements
- Influence and drive alignment across a complex, matrixed organization with competing priorities
- Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes effectively to senior leadership
- People Leadership & Talent Development
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of technical product managers and/or technology professionals
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration
- Coach and mentor team members to strengthen leadership capability and succession pipeline
- Model strong people leadership aligned with MetLife’s leadership expectations
- Strategic Impact
- Drive adoption and optimization of sales technology to improve productivity and client experience
- Identify opportunities to leverage data, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance sales effectiveness
- Act as a forward-looking leader, anticipating future business needs and positioning the organization accordingly
Requirements
- Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in technical product management, technology delivery, or related roles
- Proven experience leading complex technology initiatives involving multi-system integrations
- Demonstrated experience supporting sales organizations, ideally within insurance or financial services
- Strong track record of leading teams and delivering results in large, matrixed organizations
- Technical & Functional Expertise
- Deep knowledge of CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce or similar) and sales enablement technologies
- Strong understanding of sales processes, workflows, and tools
- Familiarity with RFP processes, content management systems, and proposal automation tools
- Solid understanding of enterprise architecture, integrations, and data flows
- Experience using AI in development life cycle and building AI-enabled solutions
- Leadership & Business Skills
- Exceptional leadership and people management capabilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, ambiguous, and complex environment
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, including at senior levels
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into execution
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience transforming technology ways of working in a large organization
- Experience in Business-to-Business sales for large, multi-line of business enterprise
Schedule
This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $164,200 - $218,900. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
