AVP Strategic Sourcing - REMOTE

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a AVP Strategic Sourcing - REMOTE to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will lead strategic sourcing and procurement optimization efforts that strengthen vendor performance, cost discipline, and risk management across the organization. The AVP will partner closely with Legal and cross-functional stakeholders to standardize contracts, evaluate tooling, and improve sourcing outcomes. This position also carries responsibility for team leadership, budget oversight, and building a culture of continuous improvement within the procurement function.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic sourcing and procurement optimization plan
• Drive vendor consolidation aligned with strategic organizational goals
• Assess and integrate advanced contracting tools for efficiency
• Collaborate across departments on vendor management and performance analysis
• Oversee vendor risk management initiatives and report on outcomes
• Partner with Legal for contract standardization and compliance
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the procurement team
• Manage budget, staffing, and performance of the strategic sourcing department

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in sourcing, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; HS diploma or GED required
• 12 years of progressive experience in sourcing and finance leadership
• 8 years of experience managing diverse teams
• Strong understanding of contract management practices
• Expertise in ERP and reporting system implementation
• Ability to build relationships across departments
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

Pay

$164,000 – $279,000 annually
