Duties & Responsibilities
- Partners with SVP, HR in development of HR strategy and goals in support of business objectives.
- Leads, HR department leaders and HR team in the operational and tactical HR function.
- Serves as a HR business partner to enterprise VP's, AVP's, and Managers.
- Responsible for recruitment, coaching, performance, and employee development of the HR team.
- Ensures that human resource-related decisions are compatible with SCCU’s policies, practices, and Leader’s direction.
- Administers performance management plans and systems that help align the workforce with the strategic goals of SCCU.
- Develops staffing strategies, identifies and addresses strategic recruiting needs, analyzes turnover and makes recommendations to Leader to reduce and manage retention.
- Directs all external and internal staffing, recruitment, and selection activities in order to meet organizational requirements, internal customer needs, while complying with applicable laws.
- Oversees benefit administration with Manager, Benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401k, Short and Long Term Disability, Worker’s Compensation, and other Team Member benefits.
- Provides guidance and counsel to Leaders in addressing concerns, complaints, and Team Member relations situations.
- May serve as the primary investigator on formal complaints regarding harassment or discrimination.
- Assists in the progressive discipline process and employment termination decisions.
- Conducts investigations when employee complaints/concerns are brought forth.
- Prepares annual budget with department peers and direction from SVP, HR to include projections for the department and operates within its guidelines.
- Maintains compliance with all existing governmental, labor, and legal requirements as they relate to HR including EEO, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, HIPPA, FLSA, DOL, Workers Comp, OSHA, etc.
- Helps minimize exposure to lawsuits through the development and administration of fair and equitable employment and pay practices as well as training with regards to compliance, positive employee relations, harassment, conflict resolution, and progressive discipline.
Requirements
- 5-8 years prior progressive experience in human resources leadership position required.
- Four-year college or university diploma (bachelor’s degree) in human resource management, industrial relations, or equivalent experience required.
- SHRM-CP/SCP Preferred.
- Travel between Miramar, FL and Melbourne, FL required quarterly or as needed.
