About the role

The AVP Financial Reporting role within the Fund Administration and Operations Team (FAO) provides leadership, direction and functional expertise to ensure departmental results for Lincoln’s Registered Mutual Funds. They will also contribute to the development of Financial Reporting departmental strategy and ensure that key information is delivered in a clear, concise and actionable way.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for strategy development and execution for regulatory reporting processes including second level review of financial statements for both open-ended and closed-ended mutual funds in addition to supporting Investor Relations, Legal and other departments with earnings releases, Proxy statements and other relevant documents.
  • Provides leadership to a team that provides highly complex financial reporting for management.
  • Provides leadership and direction on complex financial reporting activities and processes, including directing the development of sufficient, accurate and reliable complex information to support data driven decision making.
  • Oversees and develops financial reporting policies and procedures.
  • Advises and provides subject matter expertise to management and applicable stakeholders on key financial reporting information and identified trends for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies.
  • Directs the highly complex analysis and validation of financial reporting to ensure information is sufficient, compliant, accurate and reliable.
  • Identifies, recommends and implements opportunities to make the highly complex financial reporting processes more efficient and achieve balance of timeliness and precision.
  • Directs and/or participates in departmental or enterprise wide complex projects assigned by providing stakeholders with actionable and valuable complex financial reporting information to enable decision-making that results in successful outcomes.
  • Develops and/or manages budget/expenses for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Directs and evaluates departmental performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Provides strategic leadership and direction to continually improve the capability and results for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Directs/executes approved strategy decisions and contributes to strategy creation for assigned area(s) of responsibility.

Requirements

  • 10+ Years of experience in Financial Reporting and/or Fund Accounting that aligns with the regulatory requirements of both open-end and closed-end funds.
  • Experience with AICPA Audit and Accounting uide, Reg S-X, N1-A and N-2 disclosure requirements.
  • Experience working with a third-party administrator and independent audit firms.
  • Experience with preparing board materials and interaction with Mutual Fund Boards.
  • Experience with Mutual Fund budgets including analysis of budget assumptions and various allocation methodologies.
  • 3+ Years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience.
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's).
  • CPA license is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Co-Pilot or Claude is encouraged.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement process improvements.
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
  • Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among senior management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Qualifications

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's).

Benefits

Commensurate with experience.

Pay

$127,500 - $232,300

Schedule

Hybrid : Employee will work 3 days a week in a Lincoln office.
