About the role
Responsible for the development and execution of the end-to-end analytics & reporting for consumer lending, including home equity lines of credit, other retail products, and future unsecured personal loans and credit card products. Contributes to a data-driven culture and the use of advanced analytics and data infrastructure to drive innovation in areas such as credit decisioning, pricing, and customer lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the analytics strategy for the consumer lending portfolio, aligning with business goals and risk tolerance.
- Design, develop, validate, and monitor credit risk models and scorecards, including underwriting, behavioral, pricing, and loss forecasting.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reporting frameworks that track portfolio health, credit quality, delinquency trends, loss performance, and profitability metrics.
- Conduct in-depth analysis to identify emerging risks and growth opportunities.
- Design and evaluate origination, account management, and collections strategies using statistical modeling, segmentation, and champion/challenger testing.
- Deliver customer lifecycle analytics including acquisition, activation, utilization, retention, and attrition to inform targeted strategies across the lending funnel.
- Partner with Marketing to assess market opportunities, evaluate product economics, and measure campaign effectiveness.
- Leverage customer data to identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities within the consumer lending portfolio.
- Provide analytical support for loss forecasting, stress testing, and allowance for credit losses processes in collaboration with Finance and Risk.
- Collaborate with Technology and Data Engineering teams to ensure the availability, accuracy, and accessibility of lending data assets.
- Define and enforce data governance standards and best practices within the analytics function.
- Contribute to the adoption of advanced analytics techniques to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Communicate complex analytical insights and recommendations clearly to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, accounting, finance, data analytics, or relevant field required.
- 3+ years’ experience in data science/data analytics required.
- Strong proficiency in one or more of SQL, SAS, R, Python, Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
- Experience in consumer lending preferred.
- Knowledge of consumer lending and related regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and derive business insights.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Effective interpersonal skills to build collaborative working relationships and work in a team environment.
