AVP, Assistant General Counsel

For our client, a leader in the healthcare space, we are seeking an AVP Assistant General Counsel to join their team. This role will provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen responsible execution, improve decision-making, and support sustainable growth within a healthcare environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Serve as a legal advisor for commercial technology transactions
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate legal risks
• Advise on data governance and AI-related legal considerations
• Structure enterprise-level transactions balancing legal and business goals
• Support international expansion and cross-border technology transactions
• Enhance scalability in contracting processes through improved templates and guidance

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state
• Minimum 6 years of legal experience in commercial contracts and technology transactions
• Experience drafting and negotiating SaaS, cloud services, and AI-related agreements
• Strong understanding of technology-related risk allocation and privacy considerations
• Healthcare industry experience is preferred
• Excellent communication skills to simplify complex legal concepts

Pay

$200,000 – $220,000 annually
