About the role

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and test electronic systems or devices in support of manufacturing and qualifying flight avionics hardware.
  • Lead sophisticated projects combining hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Develop and test real-time embedded systems with a focus on modular and extensible architectures.
  • Apply technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and/or testing electronic systems or devices
  • Sound knowledge of electronics, electrical circuit fundamentals
  • Familiar with programming test equipment for operational usage with a preference for Python scripting and familiarity
  • Cognizant of EMI/EMC standards, IEC & automotive standards or equivalent
  • Familiar with hardware and software development life cycle
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Possess flexibility to support weekend shifts or non-standard hours based on program needs

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of coordinated test and operations experience (aircraft, launch vehicles, spacecraft, racing teams)
  • Experience leading sophisticated projects combining hardware, firmware, and software
  • Experience being responsible for the development and testing of real-time embedded systems with a focus on modular and extensible architectures
  • Familiarity with Python
  • Familiarity with Linux and other Unix-style operating systems
  • Familiarity with git, Jenkins, JIRA
  • Experience developing hardware to IPC J-STD-0001xS, IPC/WHMA-A-620x-S, and/or NASA-STD-8739.x standards
  • Experience with DO-160, MIL-STD-461, and SMC-S-016 (or equivalent testing standards)
  • Experience with safety-critical systems development (automotive, aerospace, medical, etc.)

Pay

Base Pay Range For WA applicants is $130,706.00 - $182,987.70
