About the role
This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.
Responsibilities
- Develop and test electronic systems or devices
- Lead sophisticated projects combining hardware, firmware, and software
- Develop real-time embedded systems with a focus on modular and extensible architectures
- Work with Python and other programming languages
- Use Linux and other Unix-style operating systems
- Use tools like git, Jenkins, JIRA
- Follow safety-critical systems development standards (DO-160, MIL-STD-461, SMC-S-016)
- Contribute to the development and testing of avionics for the New Glenn launch vehicle
Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and/or testing electronic systems or devices
- Sound knowledge of electronics, electrical circuit fundamentals
- Familiar with programming test equipment for operational usage
- Cognizant of EMI/EMC standards, IEC & automotive standards or equivalent
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Flexibility to support weekend shifts or non-standard hours may be required based on program needs
Qualifications
- 5+ years of coordinated test and operations experience (aircraft, launch vehicles, spacecraft, racing teams)
- Experience leading sophisticated projects combining hardware, firmware, and software
- Experience being responsible for the development and testing of real-time embedded systems with a focus on modular and extensible architectures
- Familiarity with Python
- Familiarity with Linux and other Unix-style operating systems
- Familiarity with git, Jenkins, JIRA
- Experience developing hardware to IPC J-STD-0001xS, IPC/WHMA-A-620x-S, and/or NASA-STD-8739.x standards
- Experience with DO-160, MIL-STD-461, and SMC-S-016 (or equivalent testing standards)
- Experience with safety-critical systems development (automotive, aerospace, medical, etc.)

Pay
Base Pay Range For WA applicants is $130,706.00 - $182,987.70
