Responsibilities
- Test & Diagnose Systems: Conduct functional tests to isolate issues, analyze in-flight data, and determine corrective actions
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Identify wiring discrepancies, replace defective units, and perform necessary modifications using diagrams and service instructions
- Install & Align Equipment: Execute wiring repairs and system adjustments to meet operational and regulatory standards
- Collaborate During Flight Tests: Accompany pilots to validate repaired or aligned systems for optimal performance
- Follow Technical Documentation: Work from aircraft orders, wiring diagrams, and written instructions to complete tasks accurately
- Maintain Compliance: Ensure all work meets FAA procedures and safety standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; two years of college or technical school preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in aircraft avionics systems troubleshooting and repair
- Knowledge of electronics and ability to use test equipment related to avionics systems
- Familiarity with avionics systems including communication, navigation, autopilot, flight director, and pulse equipment (DME, transponder, weather radar)
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, aircraft orders, and written instructions
