About the role

This role is part of Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security, supporting manufacturing and supply chain across all facilities. You will enable and support the application of critical hardware in the design of the New Glenn launch vehicle by bridging internal program engineering and critical supplier partners. Responsibilities include working closely with suppliers to resolve technical issues, develop sustainable manufacturing processes, mitigate technical risks, own technical risk identification and mitigation at the supplier, and engage in failure investigations and RCCA activity as needed. The position focuses on avionics product development for the New Glenn Program, covering New Product Introduction (NPI), sustaining production, and avionics test support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team up with Integrated Product Team leadership to capture product concepts, requirements, and design artifacts relevant to product manufacture.
  • Champion avionics product development project management best practices (initiation, planning, execution, performance/controls, and closeout) and drive Integrated Product Teams to develop and release product artifacts for manufacture.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, integration, and supply chain teams to develop and release product statements of work (SoWs), specifications, Supplier Data Requirement Lists (SDRLs), and other development artifacts.
  • Coordinate with supply chain management and contract manufacturers to negotiate, plan, execute, and deliver avionics products (including End Item Data Packages) in alignment with program goals and procurement timelines.
  • Strengthen vendor relationships by communicating program business and technical information, and conveying supplier capabilities, performance, and execution to engineering teams and management.
  • Create and coordinate the demand signal for hardware purchases, partnering with Supply Chain Planning, Production Control, Fulfillment, Accounts Payable, and Supplier Quality.
  • Schedule regular status meetings with suppliers to monitor performance, address risks, resolve issues, track execution, and ensure quality product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal product test teams, contract manufacturers, and contract test houses to plan and conduct functional, acceptance, and qualification testing.
  • Drive Integrated Product Teams by managing scope changes, deviations, and schedule adjustments, serving as the primary supplier contact, and guiding supplier selection with commodity managers.
  • Manage suppliers for critical components such as instrumentation sensors, batteries, and avionics boxes, ensuring technical and supply‑chain coordination, risk management, and adherence to schedule and cost expectations.

Required Skills

  • Solid experience working with cross‑functional product development teams and external manufacturers to plan, fabricate, test, and deliver complex electronic products.
  • Expertise in developing, understanding, and reporting complex datasets, budgets, and cost accounting (using MS Excel or similar tools).
  • Demonstrated success developing, communicating, and executing logic‑linked schedules (using MS Project or similar tools).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Customer‑oriented, collaborative team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Resourceful self‑starter with a sense of ownership and a strong bias for action in managing complex projects.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience developing aerospace electronic products across the entire production life cycle for multiple released products.
  • Familiarity with relevant IPC board and harness development standards and understanding of Class 2 vs. Class 3 circuit card design trade‑offs.
  • Experience with electronic product development tools such as Primavera (P6) schedule management, DOORS/DNG requirements capture, Altium and OrCAD/Altium board design, CREO mechanical design, and Windchill configuration management.

Education Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant avionics engineering field with project management experience or training.

Required Experience
