Avionics Maintenance Technician - 1505

About the role

As an Avionics Maintenance Technician, you will troubleshoot and repair avionics units and aircraft systems, including Navs, Coms, Pulse, Radar, Audio, and Autopilot Systems. You will perform general avionics support, inspections, evaluations, and maintenance tasks while working closely with customers and management.

Responsibilities

• Perform general avionics support on aircraft, including removal/installation of panels and components, and repair work.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate aircraft systems when designated.
• Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components.
• Verify aircraft movement and system performance.
• Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
• Work with customers in project management, pricing, and support roles.
• Work independently on projects and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Communicate effectively in English (speaking, writing, reading).
• Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• Attend work as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments.
• Notify supervisor in advance if unable to work.
• Follow FAA guidelines, company rules, and safety protocols.
• Maintain customer-oriented work habits.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Electronics or Avionics factory training preferred.
• Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or passport (ideal but not mandatory).
• Reliable transportation to work daily.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform routine physical tasks (walking, bending, squatting, climbing, etc.).
• Stand for long periods and work in small, restricted areas.
• Basic computer skills.
• Self-motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Professional demeanor when working with customers and team members.

Qualifications

Experience levels and expectations:

• Tech I: 0-2 years of experience in avionics, military avionics, or electrical field. Limited to no knowledge of the position; requires close supervision.
• Tech II: 2-4 years of experience. Considerable knowledge of the job; requires general supervision and instructions.
• Tech III: 4-6 years of experience. Full knowledge of the job; limited supervision required; can act as a trainer or mentor.
• Master Technician: 6+ years of experience with corporate/business avionics systems. Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge.
