About the role

The WCI Backshop is seeking a skilled avionics installer to perform avionics installations, modifications, troubleshooting, and repairs in support of aircraft production. This role leads, supports, and assists technicians in avionics installations, fabricates wire harnesses, installs and terminates systems, and ensures compliance with regulatory and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provides work direction to technicians and ensures completion of tasks within allotted time frames.
• Coordinates with other departments to ensure on-time delivery of aircraft.
• Installs, modifies, and fabricates wiring, electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, and engineering drawings.
• Trains other team members and contributes to employee and technique development as a skilled specialist.
• Assists Engineering in resolving problems and makes repairs per engineering direction.
• Maintains logs and records to ensure work meets regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
• Enforces company programs including FOD, tool control, 5-S, and all safety regulations.
• Verifies defect-free assembly prior to final inspection.
• Properly maintains shop equipment and tools as assigned.
• Coordinates shift changes in the team leader’s absence and participates in continuous improvement activities (e.g., YIAW, Kaizen events).
• Assists and fills in for the team coordinator as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and one (1) year of related work experience; or three (3) years of experience in an avionics/electronic career field.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
• Working knowledge of Gulfstream Policies and Procedures manual, Inspection Procedures manual, and pertinent Process Specifications.
• Proven ability to adapt to new tasks with minimal impact to established goals and schedules.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; computer keyboard skills necessary.
