About the role
This position is available at West Star Aviation, a leading MRO provider with multiple full-service facilities across the United States. As an Avionics Install Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including panel removal and installation, connector installation, troubleshooting, and inspection.
Responsibilities
- Remove and install panels, components, and interiors
- Repair work on avionics installations
- Stamp, bundle, and install connectors on wiring
- Removal of old wiring and installation of new wire bundles in aircraft
- Troubleshooting and evaluation of avionics systems
- Inspection and evaluation of aircraft and components
- Aircraft movement and assistance in hangar stacking
- Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment, and tooling
- Basic computer skills for navigating electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases
- Work within a team process and independently on projects
- Effectively and clearly communicate (speaking, writing, reading) in English
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management
Requirements
- A High school diploma or equivalent
- Electronics or Avionics training is preferred
- A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory
Qualifications
- Tech I: 0-2 years of experience in avionics, military avionics, or electrical field
- Tech II: 2-4 years of experience in avionics or military avionics field
- Tech III: 4-6 years of experience in avionics or military avionics field
- Master Technician: 6+ years’ experience with corporate/business avionics systems
Skills
- Basic computer skills
- Physical strength to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in a hangar environment with routine walking, bending, squatting, and sitting
- Standing for long periods of time
- Climbing ladders and stairs, working in small, restricted areas
- Understanding and implementing regulations and guidelines
- Following wiring diagrams, route, and terminate wires at proper locations
- Troubleshooting, evaluating, and performing functional tests for various avionics and instrument systems
- Working with others in a professional manner
