Responsibilities
- Performs maintenance including but not limited to inspection, test, and repair of aircraft avionic/electronic components in an avionics bench repair environment.
- Performs repairs to the component level (e.g., transistor, resistor, capacitor, etc.) replacement.
- Performs appropriate computer functions and provides documentation to ensure that maintenance records, parts tracking, and costs may be accurately recorded.
- Maintains a safe, clean and compliant work environment.

Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical devices such as small electrical motors and actuators, mechanical and pneumatic valves, and AC/DC lighting systems.
- Good understanding of corrosion control methods and remedies.
- Ability to inspect components of avionics equipment for defects, such as loose connections and frayed wire, and for accuracy of assembly and installation.
- Ability to test avionics equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness, using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital meters and counters, and circuit analyzers.
- Ability to adjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results, following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.
- Ability to calibrate installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.
- Ability to use common hand tools and precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, depth gages, flow meters, pressure gauges, etc.
- Ability to apply knowledge of the design and function of equipment.
- Ability to follow industry/government specific guidelines, particularly as they relate to safety, health, and environmental practices.
- Ability to assist with research and development of new repair capabilities.
- Ability to assist with the maintenance of shop equipment and supplies.
- Ability to make computer entries and complete various types of paperwork maintenance documents such as Service Reports and 8130-3's in accordance with FAA Regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, 2 Year Electronic Degree and 1-2 years of demonstrated relevant experience or HS Diploma and 3-4 years of demonstrated relevant experience.
- Demonstrated competency in repairing electronic circuit testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing at the component level.
- Strong technical computer system (hardware & software) knowledge.
- Hands-on problem-solving style.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to support several projects and engineers while balancing priorities and schedules as necessary.
- Self-motivated and self-directed, requiring minimal oversight to meet objectives and timelines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
