Job Responsibilities
- Performs maintenance including inspection, test, and repair of aircraft avionic/electronic components.
- Repairs component level issues (e.g., transistor, resistor, capacitor).
- Performs appropriate computer functions and ensures accurate maintenance records, parts tracking, and costs.
- Ensures a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.
- Adheres to company policies and standards.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- In-depth knowledge of intermediate to advanced electronic, electrical principles and circuit analysis.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical devices.
- Ability to interpret schematic diagrams, engineering drawings, technical manuals, mechanical drawings, and charts of assigned systems.
- Tracing signal flow and understanding interrelationships of circuits.
- Soldering, cable, crimp, and harness (CCH) fabrication skills.
- Understanding of corrosion control methods and remedies.
- Inspection of components for defects and accuracy of assembly and installation.
- Testing avionics equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions.
- Adjusting, repairing, or replacing defective components based on analysis of test results.
- Calibrating installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.
- Using common hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
- Design and function of equipment knowledge.
- Industry/government specific guidelines, particularly as they relate to safety, health, and environmental practices.
- Research and development of new repair capabilities.
- Maintaining shop equipment and supplies.
- Completing paperwork maintenance documents such as Service Reports and 8130-3's.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, 2 Year Electronic Degree, or equivalent, with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- HS Diploma with 3-4 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated competency in repairing electronic circuit testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing at the component level.
- Ability to follow and read work instructions, prints, schematics, drawings, etc.
- Strong technical computer system (hardware & software) knowledge.
- Hands-on problem-solving style.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to support multiple projects and engineers.
- Self-motivated and self-directed, requiring minimal oversight to meet objectives and timelines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Physical Demands
- Frequent use of hands for fine motor tasks.
- Regularly uses hands and arms for reaching.
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Frequent sitting.
- Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
