Avionics Aircraft Technician

Job Summary

GMRE is currently recruiting for an Avionics Aircraft Technician. This position is day shift and may be eligible for per‑diem based on GSA.gov standards. The Avionics Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance and must possess knowledge of the electronic principles involved in a number of applications such as radar, data processing, navigation and data display. Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment. Must have the ability to recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Be knowledgeable of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles relating to electrical systems, concepts, and application of maintenance directives.
  • Interpret symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.
  • Remove and replace F‑16 aircraft parts and accessories/components.
  • Make adjustments and settings according to established Technical Data Specifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six (6) years total and two (2) years recent (within 4 years of task order PoP start) experience in aircraft maintenance support on F‑16 aircraft as an avionics technician.
  • Experience working with aircraft wiring, including routing and terminating 10/100 and Gig Ethernet wiring, copper wires, primary power wires, coaxial wires, shielded twisted pairs/triplets, and possibly triaxial wires/connectors.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to drive or rent a car for company business.
  • Normal color vision (passing score of 75% or greater) and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional travel for meetings, trainings, and/or site visits.
