Avionics Aircraft Technician

GMRE is currently recruiting for an Avionics Aircraft Technician. This position is day shift and may be eligible for per-diem based on GSA.gov standards.

About the role

The Avionics Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance and must possess knowledge of the electronic principles involved in applications such as radar, data processing, navigation, and data display. Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment. Must have the ability to recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledgeable of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles relating to electrical systems, concepts, and application of maintenance directives.
  • Interpret the meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.
  • Remove and replace F-16 aircraft parts and accessories/components.
  • Make adjustments and settings according to established Technical Data Specifications.
  • Work with aircraft wiring, including installing Avionics system modifications by routing and terminating 10/100 and Gig Ethernet wiring, copper wires, primary power wires, Coaxial wires, shielded twisted pairs/triplets, and possibly triaxial wires/connectors.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six (6) years total and two (2) years recent (within 4 years of task order PoP start) experience in aircraft maintenance support on F-16 aircraft as an avionics technician.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation.
  • For insurance purposes, a valid driver’s license is required; driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency.
  • Normal color vision as defined by GMRE, with a passing score of 75% or greater.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
