Avionics Aircraft Technician

GMRE is currently recruiting for an Avionics Aircraft Technician on the day shift. This position may be eligible for per-diem based on GSA.gov standards.

About the role

The Avionics Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance and must possess knowledge of the electronic principles involved in applications such as radar, data processing, navigation, and data display. The role involves interpreting and advising on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment, as well as recommending methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles relating to electrical systems, concepts, and application of maintenance directives.
• Interpret symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
• Properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.
• Remove and replace F-16 aircraft parts and accessories/components.
• Make adjustments and settings according to established Technical Data Specifications.
• Install avionics system modifications by routing, terminating 10/100 and Gig Ethernet wiring, copper wires, primary power wires, coaxial wires, shielded twisted pairs/triplets, and possibly triaxial wires/connectors.

Requirements

• Minimum of six (6) years total and two (2) years recent (within 4 years of task order PoP start) experience in aircraft maintenance support on F-16 aircraft as an avionics technician.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation.
• Valid driver’s license (required for insurance purposes).
• Normal color vision as defined by GMRE, with a passing score of 75% or greater.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Schedule
