Aviation Trusted Agent (Aviation - Civil Service)

This position processes airport security identification media (badges) in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations and airport Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Responsibilities

• Collects information from applicants and current airport ID media holders for Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and Security Threat Assessment (STA) clearance via the Designated Aviation Channeler.
• Handles and reviews badge applications for completeness and accuracy.
• Determines applicant’s identity in accordance with federal regulations, TSA requirements, and airport policies.
• Ensures STA approval is received from TSA prior to issuing ID media.
• Oversees security training and ensures Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge applicants complete training before issuance.
• Accurately logs, tracks, and reconciles issuance, loss, theft, return, and destruction of control number items.
• Maintains a stop list of unaccumulated ID media to prevent unauthorized access to secure areas, as required by TSA regulations.
• Files and labels all required forms.
• Accurately collects fees using SAP (Pay 1) for processing payments and billing accounts.
• Communicates with customers via telephone and email.
• Processes applications and issues media ID, vehicle stickers, and vehicle caps in accordance with TSA regulations.
• Verifies information submitted to the Security Credentialing Office, communicates badge application status, schedules fingerprinting and training appointments, and safeguards general information.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three (3) years of customer service experience involving complex inquiries, heavy data entry, analyzing documentation for accuracy, processing applications/permits, and/or compliance/credentialing verification.
• Associate degree (or higher) in any field plus one (1) year of the required experience may substitute for education and experience.
• Current Airport Certified Employee (ACE) – Trusted Agent certification may substitute for education and experience.
• Must successfully pass and maintain a clear Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security threat assessment.

Skills

• Knowledge of City organization, operations, policies, and procedures.
• Knowledge of safe operation of tools and equipment according to airport operating and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate power tools or equipment used in construction or landscaping.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a wide variety of people.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, standards, and regulations related to airport operations and safety precautions.
• Knowledge of trust management and related policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate via two-way radio with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Air Traffic Controllers.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.

Schedule

Subject to varying shifts, including working some weekends. Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is required.

Pay

Salary range: $21.67 - $23.60 per hour. The amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
