Aviation Site Manager with Security Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Manages all site activities.
  • Executes site operations to ensure projects are completed safely and on time.
  • Meets regularly with Senior Leadership to discuss operations and ensure the program is on track.
  • Acts as the primary interface and point of contact with local government authorities and representatives on program/project and contract issues.
  • Conducts management meetings as necessary to ensure site is performing to customer and company expectations.
  • Develops and assists in developing local management procedures and controls.
  • Develops and implements policy and procedures to establish safe work practices and conditions.
  • Participates in monthly Safety Reviews.
  • Oversees all operational matters to meet successful contractual obligations.
  • Interacts with Leadership and other Akima divisions as necessary to resolve issues beyond local capability.
  • Takes personal attention to the morale and welfare of all employees and ensures a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Attends meetings as requested by the customer.
  • Ensures adherence to established standards of individual performance and discipline.
  • Participates in the interviews of prospective employees and assists in the selection of new employees.
  • Recommends and initiates personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and appropriate disciplinary action.
  • Takes actions necessary to ensure that all personnel training, certification, and re-certification requirements are met.
  • Identifies, studies, and implements cost-saving initiatives where applicable.
  • Complies with Hazardous Waste Program.
  • Complies with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities, and job assignment.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen with valid drivers license.
  • Secret clearance or ability to obtain (preference given to those with clearance).
  • At least 10 years of aircraft maintenance supervisory experience.
  • Analytical abilities necessary to handle complex administrative, organizational, and aircraft maintenance matters.
  • Communicative, managerial, and organizational skills necessary to effectively manage site operations.
  • Ability to work in both an office setting and an aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Completed high school or equivalent education.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Experience working in a rotary-wing aircraft environment is preferred.
  • A college degree is desired.
