Responsibilities
- Performs airport planning activities as part of a larger planning team
- Works collaboratively with engineering teams to support design projects
- Participates in the production of high-quality exhibits and documents to communicate the results of the planning study elements
- Led planning projects and working closely with our clients; ability to operate with autonomy and ownership over assigned work
- Contributes significantly to the overall success of Barge Design Solutions, Barge’s Aviation team and the team’s projects
- Collates, analyzes, and disseminates data to support airport planning projects
- Supports environmental permitting requirements and site selection studies in accordance with FAA Advisory Circulars and Orders
- Conducts site visits and field inspections
- Attends client and stakeholder meetings, documenting decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in aviation management, aeronautical science, planning, engineering, or a related field
- Entry level - 4 years of experience in aviation planning, or similar experience
- Possesses a genuine interest in the aviation industry and eagerness to grow within the field
- Possesses strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Interacts with employees, other consultants, clients, and others with respect and professionalism
- Ability to work in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment and is responsive to deadlines
- Demonstrates an understanding of airport planning issues/solutions and ability to undertake technical assignments
- Knowledge of FARs, FAA Advisory Circulars, and FAA orders that apply to airport planning is preferred
- 2 years of experience in a consulting firm environment preferred
- Ability to work in AutoCAD and GIS software preferred
- Pursuing certifications (AICP, AAAE CM, PMP), as appropriate
