About the Role
Faculty deliver approved curriculum, content, and assessments in an applied learning environment. Responsibilities include facilitation of activities and discussions that engage a range of learning styles with targeted guidance and mentorship to students. Faculty interpret and administer assessments, offer constructive feedback to support student growth and learning outcomes, and integrate technology effectively to enrich educational experiences. Faculty act as ambassadors for their programs and TSTC.
Core Responsibilities
- Instructional Delivery: Prepare and deliver high quality instruction and facilitate the learning of students. Develop appropriate course syllabi and instructional plans, and organize daily classes utilizing a variety of creative/innovative techniques.
- Instructional Management: Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student records, maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety, equipment security where applicable, and ensure opportunities for student/participant evaluation.
- Student Retention and Placement: Perform student advisement such that students are provided with timely, accurate, and comprehensive information. Collaborate with the Office of Student Success to ensure students receive current information on tutoring and other programs designed to increase retention.
- Program Recruitment & Promotion: Participate in related tours and recruitment events. Assist in department/program planning for recruitment.
- Teamwork & Service: Demonstrate willingness to be of service and exhibit pleasant and courteous behavior toward customers (students, parents, employers, and media), organizational coworkers, and other general public contacts. Maintain flexibility, including availability for evening, weekend, or summer assignment, as appropriate; work effectively in a team environment; commit to the mission, vision and values of the college.

Required Qualifications
- Either FAA Airframe and Powerplant licenses, or substantial relevant aircraft maintenance experience (military included).
- Ability to develop in-class and online presentations related to aircraft airframes and powerplants.
- Ability to develop learning outcomes, hands-on projects, and mastery assessments related to aircraft airframes and powerplants.
- 2+ years' experience maintaining aerospace vehicles.
- Demonstrated competency in airframe theory, and maintenance of structures and a variety of airframe systems such as electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, oxygen, heating, cooling, etc.
- Demonstrated competency in powerplant theory, and maintenance of APUs, engines, and their systems, such as reciprocating and turbine engines, fire detection and warning, propellers, fuel systems, electrical systems, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- FAA Inspection Authorization; 121 or 145 inspection experience, or similar.
- 5+ years' experience maintaining FAA-certificated aircraft.
- 1+ years' experience in developing in-class and online presentations related to aircraft airframes and powerplants.
- 1+ years' experience developing learning outcomes, hands-on projects, and mastery assessments related to aircraft airframes and powerplants.
Pay & Benefits
- Median salary range: $90,298 for fully qualified candidates meeting all credentialing requirements.
- Eligible for semester retention bonuses (potential of $2k per semester).
