Aventura Community Schools- K-3 Classroom Teachers

Responsibilities

• Planning and providing dual language instruction on co-teaching teams so that all students meet or exceed their learning and community goals
• Connecting and building relationships with students and families in order to support academic and personal needs
• Creating a positive, respectful educational environment where students develop confidence and independence as the protagonists of their learning adventures

Qualifications

• A applicable Tennessee teacher license or the ability/willingness to transfer applicable licensure from elsewhere, and/or enroll in a teacher preparation program
• Proficiency in English and Spanish
• Demonstrated instructional leadership in creative productive classroom environments/cultures characterized by: high academic expectations and achievement as measured by school and state expectations
• Deep care for students and families aligned with Aventura’s unique anchors
• A strong sense of personal responsibility and initiative when approaching a new challenge or opportunity, especially experience working on a founding school team
• Curiosity and a commitment to continued professional and personal growth
• Passion for celebrating the unique cultures and characteristics that make each student, family, and staff member at Aventure unique and important
