AV/VTC Service Technician

Salary: $80,000

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic equipment such as audio, video, sound, lighting, and projection systems, as well as other systems as required.
• Apply thorough knowledge of protocols and AV design, including signal flow, H.323, H.264, SIP, WebRTC, H.239 duo-video, video bridging and gateways, and applicable platforms, including WebEx, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
• Set up and service commercial-grade networking devices: WAPs, routers, WiFi bridges, managed switches, and VLANs.
• Install, terminate, and optimize cabling, associated devices, computers, digital technology, and commercial off-the-shelf technologies as required by scope and design.
• Demonstrate excellent knowledge of networking addressing schemes and network integration, including IP cameras and IP access control.
• Install and service PTZ cameras.
• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, repairs, and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Work directly with customers to investigate, troubleshoot, and diagnose technical product problems.
• Provide written customer-ready documentation of all analysis performed with root-cause and corrective actions identified.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience installing and supporting A/V systems and digital signage solutions.
• Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) and CTS-I or CTS-D certification required.
• Technical degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of construction documentation and blueprint reading.
• Experience working with multiple departments and managing multiple tasks concurrently.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Skills

• AVIXA, Crestron, Extron, BiAmp, Poly, Shure, AMX, or Cisco experience highly preferred; certifications a plus.
• Working knowledge of Crestron, Extron, and AMX is a plus.
