The Opportunity
The AV Technician, Meeting & Events Tech Services (METS), is responsible for the end-to-end technical delivery of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events across the enterprise. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, event organizers, presenters, and moderators to ensure meetings and events are executed with precision, reliability, and a high-quality attendee experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead customer intake consultations and provide guidance on meeting and event technology solutions, platform selection, and execution planning.
- Facilitate event setup discussions, run-of-show development, and overall event support activities.
- Conduct technical walkthroughs with organizers, presenters, moderators, and key stakeholders.
- Lead presenter rehearsals and pre-event readiness sessions to ensure successful execution.
- Perform presenter technology checks, including audio, video, content sharing, and connectivity validation.
- Launch, manage, and support live meetings, webinars, webcasts, and hybrid events using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and WebEx.
- Configure and manage platform settings, including security controls, recordings, breakout rooms, polling, Q&A functions, and participant management.
- Monitor event backchannel communications and resolve technical issues in real time.
- Provide calm, professional incident response during executive-level and high-visibility events.
- Edit, package, and distribute recorded content following event completion.
- Generate attendance, participation, and engagement reports as requested.
- Participate in post-event reviews, documentation efforts, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Perform daily AV conference room health checks to ensure system stability, functionality, and reliability.
- Partner with vendors and production teams as needed to support successful event delivery.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3-5+ years of experience supporting enterprise AV, virtual, hybrid, or meeting event technologies.
- Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Teams and Zoom, including webinars and live event capabilities.
- Technical, hands-on experience with Cisco meeting room and collaboration technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead live event execution with strong attention to detail and composure under pressure.
- Experience supporting executive-level or other high-visibility meetings and events.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across audio, video, conferencing, and content-sharing technologies.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Knowledge & Experience
- Experience supporting large-scale webcasts, enterprise town halls, all-hands meetings, and hybrid events.
- Familiarity with conference room AV technologies, including cameras, microphones, DSPs, and control systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams Rooms and/or Zoom Rooms environments.
- Understanding of AV signal flow and fundamental networking concepts.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices, including captioning, audio quality, and inclusive meeting delivery.
- Experience coordinating with third-party vendors and production partners.
- CTS certification or comparable AV industry certification preferred.
