About the role
The Daisy Care technician is responsible for managing the technical side of a project after completion. Under a service contract, the technician provides onsite service, reviews systems, creates notes and surveys, and identifies issues to be resolved by new installs. They ensure client satisfaction following visits and provide the service desk with up-to-date information. The technician will travel between client sites throughout the day to handle various requests.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics on system issues and report problems.
- Test AV signal flow, programming, and control systems for functionality.
- Provide guidance on optimizing, repairing, or upgrading technology.
- Interact with clients to educate, assess needs, and deliver tutorials for high customer satisfaction.
- Liaise with clients to schedule, confirm, and follow up on appointments and technical needs.
- Act as a backup resource for the service desk to assist with tickets.
- Complete timely documentation for pre/post-visit notes, service activities, and client interactions.
- Work cross-functionally with sales and design on client surveys, proposals, and other needs.
- Participate in an on-call weekend rotation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in residential AV smart home automation.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to multiple site locations in the tri-state area, including NYC (5 boroughs), Long Island (including the Hamptons), Southern CT, Westchester County, and Northern NJ.
- Strong knowledge of audio & video distribution concepts and equipment (HDMI, Dante audio).
- Proficiency with IR, RS-232, and network control protocols.
- Understanding of networking standards, including VPN connections and port forwarding.
- Experience with Savant, Crestron, and/or Control4 control systems.
- Familiarity with Lutron lighting & shade systems and HVAC/thermostat functionality.
- Expertise with product lines such as Crestron, Savant, Sonos, Lutron, Snapav, Access Networks, Sonance, Bluebolt, Future Automation, and Seura.
- Expert knowledge of Crestron Toolbox, Savant, Dyn, DNS, and similar tools.
- Ability to lift, move, and push up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Crestron, Savant, Lutron, or other manufacturers’ training certifications are a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

- Comfortable interacting with VIP clientele in a fast-paced environment.
- Mastery of control systems including Crestron, Lutron, Savant, and Control4.
