AV Events Engineer

About the role
In Samsara’s Core IT team, you’ll deliver systems, support, and experiences that empower teams to maximize their impact. As a member of the IT Engineering team focusing on AV, you’ll own the technology and processes for Onsite and Remote AV Event Operations, ensuring our people can present their best. This role is based in our SF HQ office at 1 de Haro.

Responsibilities
- Join a small, dynamic AV team and optimize existing AV subject-matter expertise.
- Provide clear, well-articulated communication to business stakeholders.
- Coordinate, execute, and broadcast high-visibility events (e.g., company-wide town halls, earnings calls) to thousands of employees.
- Set up, run, and troubleshoot all general AV equipment in our offices, including video conferencing and streaming tools.
- Plan and integrate collaboration tools and services in our workplaces.
- Manage AV vendor relationships, including maintenance, contracting, billing, and quality assurance.
- Identify opportunities to improve future events and AV configurations across expanding geographies.
- Collaborate with internal partners and external vendors globally.
- Provide technical advice to presenters, leaders, and staff on AV requirements and solutions.
- Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (e.g., customer focus, growth mindset, inclusivity, teamwork) as we scale.
Requirements
- Willingness to be in the office at least 3 days a week (Tuesday–Thursday) to support onsite events and AV infrastructure maintenance.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an AV environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Zoom and Zoom Webinars.
- Troubleshooting experience during high-visibility events.
- Passion for learning and adapting in a fast-paced environment.
Skills
- Experience supporting live events.
- Experience interacting with executive teams.
- Knowledge of Q-SYS and Dante technologies.
- Strong AV technical background with IT infrastructure expertise.
- Proven ability to set up, configure, and operate multimedia AV systems.
- Knowledge of Apple products (MacBooks, iPhones, etc.).
- Demonstrable skills in software programming or scripting.
- Bonus: A YouTube channel or production experience.
Pay
Annual base salary range: $86,275–$145,000 USD. This role is also eligible for an initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff and ongoing refresh opportunities tied to performance.
