Automotive Service Technician

Serra Kalkaska is seeking a Full-Time Certified CDJR Service Technician. The position requires technical skills and a commitment to a rewarding career in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on repair orders, adhering to dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnoses and repairs mechanical issues on vehicles.
• Communicates with the parts department for necessary parts.
• Saves and tags parts if under warranty or requested by the customer.
• Examines vehicles for safety or service needs.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on repair orders.
• Road tests vehicles as needed.
• Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and events.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Supervises apprentice technicians as assigned.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Maintains cleanliness of the shop area.
• Ensures customer vehicles are kept clean.
• Operates tools and equipment safely.
• Reports safety issues immediately to management.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license.
• CDJR or Mopar® certification.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.
• Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees.
• Experience using general office equipment.
• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Possesses the ability to multitask.
• Professional, well-groomed personal appearance.
• Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
