Job Description
UPS is currently seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join their outstanding fleet maintenance team. The role involves maintaining a diverse range of equipment including delivery vehicles, heavy duty on road tractors and trailers from a variety of manufacturers. Powered vehicle propulsion includes diesel, gasoline, and alternative technology power plants (such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electrical in some locations).
Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintains compliance with Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) requirements as assigned.
- Frequently bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots during work.
- Sits occasionally, as required, throughout the workday.
- Uses simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaches from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete tasks.
- Operates standard and manual transmissions.
- Operates power and pneumatic tools.
- Must possess current documented automotive mechanical experience.
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers is preferred.
- Must have a full complement of personal hand tools.
- Preferred to hold a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, and Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on location needs.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
- Must have current documented automotive mechanical experience.
- Must possess a full complement of personal hand tools.
- Preferred to hold a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, and Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on location needs.
Skills
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers.
- Knowledge of various systems such as hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical, and engine control.

The starting pay rate for this position is $39.18 per hour.
Schedule
Works full time shifts: 8-hour days, 4-5 days per 7-day week.
