About the role
The Automotive Technician will maintain a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles and trailers from various manufacturers. These vehicles' propulsion systems include diesel, gasoline, and electrical in some locations. Must be skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.
Responsibilities
- Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday
- Sits infrequently, as required, throughout duration of workday
- Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
- Operates standard and manual transmission
- Operates power and pneumatic tools
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have a PA state inspection license
- CDL preferred
- Must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift (3PM-11:30PM or 6PM-2:30AM)
- Must possess the required hand tools to perform the applicable job assignment
- Must be able to pass a DOT/physical, UPS road test, and drug screening
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer
Qualifications
- Documented automotive/fleet experience
- Experience with electrical and engine performance diagnostic, scan tools, and personal computer
Skills
- Dependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete scheduled workday consistently
Pay
The starting pay for this position is $39.86 per hour. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.
