About the role

Transdev in Baytown, TX is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automotive engines across various vehicles and equipment. As an A-Level Fleet Automotive Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and longevity of our assets.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on engines.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs
  • Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
  • Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for engines.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Proven knowledge of and experience working with Dodge, Chevrolet (Chevy), and Ford engines.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mechanic.
  • CDL License preferred.
  • ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program provided.
  • Mechanic’s Tool Set
  • Subject to a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing.

Physical Requirements

The essential functions of this position require the ability to: work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions, sit for extended periods, frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces, push and pull objects, occasionally lift material weighing up to 50 lbs., bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level, and withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package of minimum $25.00 – Maximum $30.00
  • Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks
