Responsibilities
- Testing to check whether systems and components are working properly
- Isolating the systems or components that might have caused a problem
- Consulting with the Shop Foreman or Service Manager on all NPF situations
- Driving the vehicle for testing purposes or using various equipment
- Maintaining efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles
- Repairing or replacing worn parts ahead of the vehicle’s breakdown or damage
- Following a checklist in ensuring that each critical part of the vehicle is examined
- Clearly recording the repairs that were needed, the work that was performed, and conditions that could not be duplicated on the repair order
- Able to clearly explain the value of keeping the vehicle serviced as needed
- Maintain meeting or exceeding the dealership’s requirements for a technician’s efficiency, productivity, and proficiency
- Attend all required dealership and brand training sessions
- Always speak in a positive manner when discussing BMW, MINI Cooper, the dealership, fellow employees, or dealership policies when communicating with the customer or their representatives
- Knows and follows all federal, state, and local laws that govern automobile repair
Requirements
- Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
- Clear focus on delivering work of the highest quality
- You must provide your own tools
- Valid Driver’s License (Required by all applicants)
- Criminal Background Check
- 18 years or Older
- Must have valid State Inspection and Emissions Licenses
- Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook
- Able to effectively work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful, atmosphere
- Mature, honest, reliable, and credible
- Demonstrating superior ethical standards
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification required
- B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
- Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
- Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
- Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
- Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
