Automotive Service Technician
About the role
The express maintenance technician at DeNooyer Chevrolet performs basic maintenance and light repairs on customer vehicles. The primary goals are to safely and efficiently perform all maintenance and repair tasks as defined in dealership processes and policies.
Responsibilities
- Performs basic maintenance and light repairs on customer vehicles
- Conducts multi point inspections of customer vehicles to identify needed maintenance services and repairs
- Uses and maintains dealership-provided tools and equipment in proper operating condition
- Documents inspection findings and maintenance requirements clearly and accurately and communicates them to the line technician
- Communicates pro-actively with other associates to ensure a smooth, safe flow of work through the shop
- Quality-checks own work and the work of other technicians as requested
- Inject grease into units such as, springs, universal joints, and steering knuckles, using hand or compressed-air powered grease gun
- Inspects fluid levels of steering gear, power steering reservoir, transmission, differential, rear axle housings
- Follows all required safety and hazardous materials procedures as required by dealership policies and applicable laws and regulations, including OSHA and MIOSHAC
- Checks air pressure of tires
- Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants
- Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil
- Adds water to radiator and battery
- Replaces oil, coolant, and air filters
- Adds windshield washer fluid
- Properly and thoroughly reviews each vehicle per the inspection sheet
Requirements
- Valid Michigan Driver’s license and an insurable driving record
- Ability to read, speak and write English in order to fulfill job functions in an understandable way
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Pay
$50,000-$100,000+ based on experience and qualifications
Schedule
A flexible schedule, including weekends, is required.
