About the role
The Service Porter position at LaFontaine Automotive Group involves maintaining a clean and organized service vehicle area. This role requires a current, valid driver's license with a satisfactory MVR, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Keep the service vehicle lot neat and orderly, moving cars as directed by management.
- Cleaning the service department drive, write-up area, and shop.
- Clean interior and exterior of vehicles, including trunks and glove compartments.
- Wash service customer vehicles using cleaning solution, water, cloths, and brushes.
- Apply special purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials, following manufacturer recommendations.
- Assist technicians with keeping the service department clean and organized.
- Assist with property maintenance and appearance.
- Greet customers immediately in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Complete all training as directed by supervisor.
- Police grounds of the dealership.
- Wear company-approved uniform.
- Park vehicles from service.
- Empty trash.
- Drive shuttle.
- Complete OSHA right-to-know training.
- Follow policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current, valid driver’s license with a satisfactory MVR.
- Ability to complete tasks on one's own and with a team.
- Good work ethic, organized, and positive attitude.
- No retail experience necessary.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is nice to have, but not required.
