Responsibilities

  • Keep the service vehicle lot neat and orderly, moving cars as directed by management and in accordance with facility display standards.
  • Clean the service department drive, write-up area, and shop.
  • Keep service vehicles clean as directed by management, including interior and exterior (trunks and glove compartments).
  • Wash service customer vehicles using cleaning solution, water, cloths, and brushes.
  • Clean engines to remove grease and other materials.
  • Apply special purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials following product manufacturer recommendations.
  • Assist technicians with keeping the service department clean and organized.
  • Assist with property maintenance and appearance.
  • Greet customers immediately in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Complete all training as directed by supervisor.
  • Police grounds of the dealership.
  • Wear company-approved uniform.
  • Park vehicles from service.
  • Empty trash.
  • Drive shuttle.
  • Complete OSHA right-to-know training.
  • Follow policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current, valid driver’s license; satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) required.
  • Ability to complete tasks independently as well as with a team.
  • Good work ethic, organized, and positive attitude.

Qualifications

  • No retail experience is necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is a plus but not required.

Skills

  • Vehicle cleaning and maintenance.
  • Customer service and communication.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds of material.
  • Willingness to work near moving mechanical parts, exhaust fumes, and potentially hazardous materials (e.g., battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaners).

Physical Requirements

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and handle tools.
  • Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials, or other toxic materials.
  • Frequently exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
