About the Role

Join a growing business committed to family, employee advancement, environmental stewardship, and community involvement. The Service Porter maintains a clean and well-organized service vehicle area, contributing to a positive customer experience and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Keep the service vehicle lot neat and orderly, moving cars as directed by management and in accordance with facility display standards.
  • Clean the service department drive, write-up area, and shop.
  • Maintain cleanliness of service vehicles, including interiors (trunks, glove compartments) and exteriors.
  • Wash customer vehicles using cleaning solutions, water, cloths, and brushes.
  • Clean engines to remove grease and other materials.
  • Apply special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials following product manufacturer recommendations.
  • Assist technicians with keeping the service department clean and organized.
  • Support property maintenance and appearance.
  • Greet customers immediately in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Complete all training as directed by supervisor.
  • Police dealership grounds.
  • Wear company-approved uniform.
  • Park vehicles from service.
  • Empty trash.
  • Drive shuttle.
  • Complete OSHA right-to-know training.
  • Follow policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current, valid driver’s license; satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

  • No retail experience necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is a plus but not required.

Skills

  • Vehicle cleaning and maintenance.
  • Use of cleaning solutions, tools, and equipment.
  • Customer service and communication.

Physical Requirements

  • Work environment is usually loud.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, and handling tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials, toxic substances, exhaust fumes, and airborne particles.
