Automotive Service Dispatcher

Responsibilities

• Implements and maintains an effective dispatch system.
• Schedules shop work to facilitate maximum productivity in accordance with dealership policy and the technician skill level required.
• Prepares service invoices and timecards for processing.
• Reviews repair orders turned in by Service Technicians to ensure accuracy of work completed.
• Ensures that technicians follow warranty procedures.
• Works with team members to increase productivity and open lines of communication with Service Advisors with updates.
• Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards.
• Communicates directly with service advisors regarding the status of the service work as well as the estimated time for completion so that customers can be informed.

Qualifications

• 3 + years' Automotive Service Department Dispatch experience.
• Ability to distribute work to Service Technicians in a fair manner according to their skill level.
• Must have the ability to motivate and lead the production of technicians.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff.
• Safety and customer service oriented.
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed.
• Professional appearance and work ethic.
• Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
