About the role
The Automotive Service Cashier / Receptionist serves as the initial point of contact for DARCARS of Greenwich, representing the dealership professionally and courteously.
Responsibilities
- Greet showroom customers and direct them to the appropriate departments or salespeople.
- Notify salespeople when customers are waiting and introduce customers to them if needed.
- Answer basic customer inquiries and refer more complex questions to the appropriate personnel.
- Administer dealer tags and gas tickets as needed.
- Intercept, screen, and route incoming calls, taking thorough messages and providing basic information.
- Assist in salesperson's daily activities, including managing the switchboard and communicating with callers.
- Enter data into computerized prospect tracking systems and update the company's telephone roster.
- Communicate messages to all relevant parties promptly.
- Perform clerical duties and accounting tasks as assigned by the controller or General Sales Manager (GSMS).
- Serve as the showroom greeter.
- Make transaction receipts for the sale and service departments (if applicable).
Requirements
- Must be able to speak clearly and professionally on the phone and in person.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with customers and DARCARS employees.
- A demonstrated commitment to customer service.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a team player.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- At least 18 years of age.
- Pass a pre-employment screening (background check).
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred but not required.
