About the role

The position of Sales Representative at LaFontaine Automotive Group involves selling automobiles by understanding and demonstrating their characteristics, capabilities, and features. The role also includes developing and qualifying buyers, closing sales, and working closely with the Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers on the sales floor and determine their vehicle preferences.
  • Explain vehicle features and demonstrate their operation.
  • Suggest optional equipment for customers.
  • Research vehicle availability and optional equipment.
  • Consult with the Sales Manager when necessary.
  • Compute and quote sales prices, including tax, trade-in allowances, license fees, and discounts.
  • Prepare all related paperwork and applications.
  • Deliver vehicles to customers and ensure they understand the vehicle's operating features, warranty, and paperwork.
  • Maintain a prospect development system.
  • Stay updated on new products, features, accessories, etc.
  • Attend sales meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
  • Adhere to Company policies and procedures.
  • Meet or exceed written forecast and projected sales numbers.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Highly desirable: Sales experience.

Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
