Duties

  • Quality control review of automotive equipment
  • Investigations related to automotive repairs
  • Monitoring probation cases involving automotive repairs
  • Providing training and guidance to field office staff

Requirements

  • Valid California driver’s license (CDL)
  • Medical clearance
  • No revocation or suspension of departmental-issued licenses for Vehicle Safety Systems Inspection, Smog Technician, and/or Smog Inspector

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of equipment and methods used in the maintenance and repair of automotive equipment
  • Ability to operate tools used in automotive repair
  • Ability to inspect automotive equipment
  • Ability to purchase parts and materials for automotive repairs
  • Ability to keep accurate records of inventory
  • Ability to reconcile and make reports related to automotive repairs
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
