Responsibilities

• Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion items, offer specials, and ensure exposure to the full product line.
• Pull purchased parts from stock; if unavailable, determine availability and inform the customer of the expected arrival date.
• Answer telephone calls, provide price quotes, capture customer details, and set up orders for shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
• Verify “will-call” and “back-order” files weekly; return unneeded items to vendors or stock them.
• Assist the parts-to-service counter sales associate as needed.
• Order parts not in stock as approved by the Parts Manager and notify customers and the Service Department upon arrival.
• Accept cash and credit payments; maintain accurate cash register records.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the parts department.
• Receive and stock incoming inventory; verify receipts against purchase orders.
• Assist with periodic inventory counts as directed by the supervisor.
• Ensure merchandise displays are stocked, clean, and appealing.
• Complete all training as directed by the supervisor.
• Follow policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• One year of experience in a vehicle parts department preferred.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations professionally.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
• Ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems (Payroll: Reynolds & Reynolds / Ignite; HR Compliance: KPA / VeraSuite).

Physical Requirements

• Required to stand, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• Frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
