Job Summary

The Parts Advisor supports and assists overall company goals in relation to Parts Sales goals, providing excellent service for our internal and external customers. The Parts Advisor will also assist customers over the phone in a proficient and friendly manner.

Responsibilities

- Accurately completes parts requests from inception, ordering process, to fulfilling customer orders. - Assures parts are handled and stored properly to prevent damage. - Keeps very accurate and detailed records to facilitate accurate inventory levels. - Facilitates warranty process and assures time frames are met to collect on warranty claims. - Keeps management informed of discrepancies in quantity, quality, or location of parts. - Suggests process improvements to improve customer support, quality, and efficiency. - Keeps parts counter and storage area clean and safe by putting things away in proper locations. - Performs physical inventory. - Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information. - Notifies the Shop Foreman and the customer that ordered parts have been received. - Participates in all training programs that are made available. - Follows all company safety policies and procedures and immediately reports any and all accidents to a manager. - Picks up and delivers parts locally as required. - Ensures that parts are charged out on RO’s. - Assists customers at front counter as needed. - Maintains a friendly professional demeanor when working with all customers (both internal and external).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Very strong attention to detail and strong mathematical aptitude. - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. - Strong PC skills and legible handwriting relating to part numbers and inventory levels. - High initiative for process improvement and customer satisfaction. - Ability to work independently and work with minimal supervision. - Ability to perform accurate inventory accounts. - Skilled to operate material handling equipment such as hand carts, (manual and motorized), scissor lift, jacks, etc.

Requirements

- Minimum 3 years of automotive or truck experience. - 3 years in warehouse setting preferred. - Solid knowledge of the industry. - Associates Degree preferred. - Strong work ethic and initiative. - Obtain a Forklift Certification
