Automotive Painter - 1st Shift (20.71+ per hr)

About the role

The Painter B position is responsible for mixing and applying epoxy and urethane coatings to products to protect exterior surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all parts and units to be painted
• Apply class B and C paint to commercial vehicles and parts
• Repair minor flaws and paint defects by wet sanding and buffing
• Clean and maintain paint booth
• Clean and maintain paint guns
• Complete rework as needed
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills
• Regular attendance required
• Perform all other assigned duties and responsibilities

Requirements

• Six months of related job experience or training

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

• Specific vision abilities: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Sense of sound and balance required
• Limb and finger dexterity required
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to perform twisting, turning, bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling motions
• Ability to lift at least 35 lbs
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)—steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, vest

Work Environment

Working conditions are inside and outside, with temperatures varying from extreme heat to extreme cold for extended periods. This position is regularly exposed to vibration and loud noises.
