Automotive Mechanic Mobile

Torque by Ryder is hiring a permanent full-time Mid-Level Mobile Automotive Technician to support our truck fleet in Fort Myers, FL.

Pay

• Hourly pay: Up to $32.00 per hour based on experience
• Retention bonus: $2,000 paid every quarter within the first year

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or professional diploma preferred
• Two (2) years or more in combination of classroom training and work experience
• Non-commercial Driver License CLASS E
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
• State driver’s license as required
• Ability to understand and adhere to company policies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
• Must pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)

• Preventive Maintenance (PM230 & PM298) within 90 days
• Brakes-Air (BA220 & BA298) within 90 days
• Brake mechanics/inspectors FMCS 396.25
• Hydraulic Brake (BH220 & BH298) where appropriate within 90 days
• Tire & Wheel TW220 within 90 days
• CF609 & A/C trained and qualified (AC220 & AC298) within 180 days
• Battery charge and check, warranty
• HD electrical - DR208 within 90 days
• Svc Island Support SBTIII trained (SBT220) and SBT Phase 2 within 180 days
• OEM online engine courses (minimum 2)

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnosis, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance for non-contractual customers
• Assist higher-grade maintenance specialists with complex repairs
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance including tune-ups, oil changes, tire changes, fuel filter changes, fluid checks, alignments, basic suspension replacement, and light/mirror replacements
• Diagnose, repair, or replace engine parts (e.g., alternators, starters, radiators, injectors, transmissions, and other fuel components) with guidance from higher-grade specialists
• Perform basic diagnostics and hydraulic brake inspections, repairs, and replacements
• Operate out of a mobile maintenance vehicle and travel to customer yards within the assigned region
• Represent Torque/Ryder to establish customer relationships
• Ensure proper documentation of work orders, customer repair authorizations, and repair notes within Salesforce
• Perform environmental duties such as site inspections, clean-ups/disposals, and handling vehicle chemicals with guidance
• Work in accordance with all federal, regional, and corporate compliance guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned
