Automotive Key Technician-Experienced

About the role

As a Key Technician, you will work an assigned route of dealers and other customers, producing duplicate keys and transponders that function like the originals, maintaining equipment and inventory, submitting invoices and work orders, and building positive relationships with customers.

Responsibilities

• Produce duplicate keys and transponders for vehicles
• Maintain equipment and inventory
• Submit invoices and work orders
• Develop and maintain positive customer relationships

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Strong work ethic, self‑motivation, and capacity to work independently
• Toughness and grit
• Prior experience as a Key Technician or willingness to complete Dent Wizard’s training course

Skills

• Strong mechanical and electronic aptitude
• Sales and customer‑service experience
• Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, key duplication, and transponder programming (preferred)

Pay

Base pay of $24/hour with the potential to earn an additional $3–$5 per hour in commission; starting compensation expected to range from $24.00 to $28.00 per hour based on qualifications, experience, and location.
