About the role
The Automotive Front Desk Receptionist serves as the initial point of contact for DARCARS Ford Lanham, representing the dealership professionally and courteously.
Responsibilities
- Greet showroom customers and direct them to the appropriate department or salesperson.
- Notify salespeople when customers are waiting and introduce customers to them.
- Determine the nature of customer visits and provide basic inquiries.
- Refer more complex inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
- Administer dealer tags and gas tickets as needed.
- Enter data into a computerized prospect tracking system.
- Manage the switchboard, answering and routing calls.
- Communicate with callers in a professional manner, minimizing hold times.
- Take thorough messages and provide basic information to callers.
- Update and distribute the company telephone roster.
- Perform clerical duties and accounting tasks as assigned.
- Make transaction receipts for the sale and service departments (if applicable).
Requirements
- Ability to speak clearly and professionally on the phone.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in customer service is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with a willingness to assist others.
- Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Pass a pre-employment background screen.
